Job Requirements

  • bachelor's degree preferred
  • minimum 6 years progressive experience in hotel food and beverage management
  • strong leadership and managerial skills
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • demonstrated ability to lead and motivate diverse teams
  • exceptional organizational and administrative skills
  • experience in implementing new food and beverage concepts
  • ability to work collaboratively with other hotel departments
  • high energy and entrepreneurial mindset
  • willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • pre-opening hotel experience preferred

Job Qualifications

  • at least 5 years experience in a senior role in a food and beverage environment
  • 6 years or more of progressive hotel food and beverage experience, typically with Hyatt
  • previous hotel pre-opening experience preferred
  • service oriented style with professional presentation skills
  • proven leadership skills
  • hotel or hospitality degree an asset
  • must possess high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, be a motivational leader with a proven track record in high volume concepts
  • effective communicator
  • effective in providing exceptional customer service and ability to improve the bottom line
  • clear concise written and verbal communication skills in English
  • proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • excellent organizational, interpersonal and administrative skills
  • experience implementing new food and beverage concepts

Job Duties

  • responsibility for short-term and long-term planning and management of the food and beverage operations in the front and back of the house
  • develop and recommend annual or quarterly budgets, marketing plans and objectives and manage within those approved plans
  • participate in total hotel management as a member of the Hotel Executive Leadership Committee
  • implement and maintain food and beverage sales and marketing programs
  • direct and oversee development of colleagues
  • hire, train, empower, coach and counsel, performance and salary reviews
  • direct the implementation of payroll, reports, forecasts, inventory and budget for food and beverage operations
  • coordinate food and beverage operations with other hotel departments to ensure efficient guest service
  • resolve customer complaints as appropriate to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and quality
  • implement procedures to increase guest and associate satisfaction
  • exercise quality control for both food and beverage
  • maintain Hyatt standards of service and ensure their implementation
  • perform daily walk-throughs to ensure full compliance with Department of Health regulations and Hyatt Corporate standards
  • maintain communications with Corporate Staff
  • coach and counsel colleagues to reflect Hyatt service standards and procedures
  • additional tasks as assigned by management
  • demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds
