Job Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years progressive experience in hotel accounting or related field
  • Or 4-year college degree with accounting or finance concentration and minimum 4 years related experience
  • Or 2-year college degree with minimum 6 years related experience
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Commitment to maintaining regulatory compliance
  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities efficiently

Job Qualifications

  • A minimum of 8 years progressive experience in hotel accounting or related field
  • Or a 4-year college degree with accounting or finance concentration and at least 4 years of progressive related experience
  • Or a 2-year college degree and at least 6 years of progressive related experience
  • Strong leadership and team development skills
  • Excellent financial management and analytical abilities
  • In-depth knowledge of hotel operations and industry standards
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, forecasts, and capital planning
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance and financial control procedures

Job Duties

  • Act as the chief business officer for the hotel and evaluate financial impact of business decisions
  • Ensure management team is promptly notified of any financial deviations or control weaknesses
  • Manage and communicate cash flow issues, including preparation of statements and management of receivables and deposits
  • Monitor hotel revenues and expenses ensuring accurate recording and budget adherence
  • Assist in the capital planning process including evaluating scope of work and bids
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory licenses, permits, leases, contracts, and legal agreements
  • Coordinate completion of forecasts and budgets with active participation from executive and departmental teams
  • Analyze financial data to maintain and advise on hotel’s financial objectives
  • Ensure timely reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts and bank statements
  • Establish and audit internal financial controls such as purchasing, cash handling, disbursements, and payroll
  • Hire, train, supervise, and develop finance staff with a focus on continuous growth and talent development
  • Maintain compliance with Crescent Hotels and Resorts standards to ensure safe and efficient hotel operations
  • Oversee proper utilization and upgrade of IT systems and equipment
  • Prepare and/or direct financial reports in accordance with company requirements and deadlines
