Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years of related progressive experience in hotel accounting or related field
- or a 4-year college degree with accounting or finance concentration and a minimum of 4 years of related progressive experience
- or a 2-year college degree and a minimum of 6 years of related progressive experience
Job Duties
- Act as the chief business officer to the general manager and executive committee team
- ensure all levels of management are promptly notified of any financial deviations or control weaknesses
- manage and communicate cash flow related issues including preparation of cash-flow statements and deposits
- monitor hotel revenues and expenses and ensure accurate recording
- investigate budget variances and offer improvement strategies
- oversee the capital planning process including evaluation of return on improvements
- ensure compliance with all regulatory licenses, leases, contracts, and operational taxes
- coordinate completion of forecasts and budgets with team participation
- analyze financial data to assist management in maintaining financial objectives
- reconcile balance sheet accounts including bank reconciliations timely
- establish and audit internal financial controls
- hire, train, supervise and develop finance staff with focus on recruiting and promoting talent
- maintain compliance with company standards for safe and efficient operation
- ensure proper utilization and upgrades of IT systems and equipment
- prepare all financial reports in accordance with company requirements
