Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of related progressive experience in hotel accounting or related field
  • or a 4-year college degree with accounting or finance concentration and a minimum of 4 years of related progressive experience
  • or a 2-year college degree and a minimum of 6 years of related progressive experience

Job Duties

  • Act as the chief business officer to the general manager and executive committee team
  • ensure all levels of management are promptly notified of any financial deviations or control weaknesses
  • manage and communicate cash flow related issues including preparation of cash-flow statements and deposits
  • monitor hotel revenues and expenses and ensure accurate recording
  • investigate budget variances and offer improvement strategies
  • oversee the capital planning process including evaluation of return on improvements
  • ensure compliance with all regulatory licenses, leases, contracts, and operational taxes
  • coordinate completion of forecasts and budgets with team participation
  • analyze financial data to assist management in maintaining financial objectives
  • reconcile balance sheet accounts including bank reconciliations timely
  • establish and audit internal financial controls
  • hire, train, supervise and develop finance staff with focus on recruiting and promoting talent
  • maintain compliance with company standards for safe and efficient operation
  • ensure proper utilization and upgrades of IT systems and equipment
  • prepare all financial reports in accordance with company requirements
