Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Hospitality, Business or related field preferred
- Minimum six years of progressive finance experience
- Experience in hospitality, retail, or related industry preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience with centralized accounting systems
- Ability to lead and mentor a team
- Knowledge of SOX compliance and financial regulations
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Job Qualifications
- Six years or more of finance career progression
- Preferred experience in hospitality, retail, or related industry
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Hospitality, Business or related field preferred
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with culturally diverse and differently-abled individuals
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills in English
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
- Experience with centralized accounting systems
Job Duties
- Prepare and review all monthly and annual financial statements
- Investigate, review and analyze variance explanations with department managers
- Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective measures
- Manage and lead on and off-site accounting functions including budgeting and month-end close
- Lead development and implementation of the annual business plan
- Complete year-end closing, approve reconciliations and audit work papers
- Coordinate external audits and approve adjustments
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and policies
- Manage SOX compliance
- Monitor industry trends and legislative changes
- Mentor and coach finance team with training and performance feedback
- Support development of future hotel leaders
- Empower employees with financial insights
- Supervise IT and procurement functions
- Cultivate an environment receptive to change
- Collaborate with management on strategic cost and revenue initiatives
- Maintain relationships with owners' representatives and key stakeholders
