Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in finance or accounting
  • at least 5 years of hospitality finance or accounting experience
  • prior controller or director of finance experience
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • must supervise 2 or more employees
  • proficiency in Windows and relevant software systems
  • experience managing financial audits
  • knowledge of regulatory compliance in hospitality industry
  • strong analytical and leadership skills

Job Qualifications

  • At least 5 or more years of hospitality finance or accounting experience
  • prior controller or director of finance experience preferably at a premium-branded hotel
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • bachelor’s degree preferably in finance or accounting
  • experience supervising 2 or more employees
  • proficiency in Windows, company-approved spreadsheets, word processing, and hotel-specific systems

Job Duties

  • Effectively manage and communicate cash flow related issues
  • prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements including cash flow statements
  • manage receivables, payables, cash balances, control mechanisms and timely deposits of all funds
  • monitor hotel revenues and expenses ensuring accurate recording following company guidelines
  • oversee cash flow and operating forecast controls
  • create annual budgets and monthly variance analysis
  • investigate and critique variances to budget or prior year and propose improvement methods
  • ensure compliance with all regulatory licenses, permits, leases, contracts, legal agreements, and operational taxes
  • analyze financial data and operations to assist management in meeting financial objectives
  • comply with standard accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • timely review and approve all balance sheet accounts including monthly bank and general ledger reconciliations
  • establish and audit internal financial controls including purchasing, cash handling, disbursements, inventories, hotel assets, master keys, payroll, and employee records
  • coordinate internal and external financial audits and interact with CPA firms
  • hire, train, supervise, and develop finance staff
  • maintain compliance with company standards for safe and efficient hotel operations
  • prepare all financial reports timely according to company requirements
  • interact with Executive Committee members to monitor property operations
  • monitor compliance with report deadlines and accuracy of daily operating reports
  • execute special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned
