Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in finance or accounting
  • at least 5 years of hospitality finance and accounting experience
  • prior controller or director of finance experience
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • proficiency in Windows and company-approved spreadsheets and word processing
  • experience with hotel-specific financial systems

  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • bachelor’s degree preferably in finance or accounting
  • proficiency in Windows, company-approved spreadsheets and word processing
  • experience with hotel-specific financial systems

Job Duties

  • Effectively manage and communicate cash flow related issues
  • prepare monthly financial statements including cash flow statements, manage receivables and payables, maintain cash balances, and ensure timely deposits
  • monitor hotel revenues and expenses ensuring accurate recording
  • control hotel's cash flow and operating forecast
  • create annual budgets and conduct monthly variance analysis with recommendations
  • ensure compliance with regulatory licenses, permits, leases, contracts, legal agreements, and operational taxes
  • analyze financial data to assist management in meeting financial objectives
  • comply with standard accounting policies and internal controls
  • review and approve balance sheet accounts including bank and ledger reconciliations
  • establish and audit internal financial controls including purchasing, cash handling, payroll, and employee records
  • coordinate and complete internal and external financial audits
  • hire, train, supervise, and develop accounting staff
  • maintain compliance with Highgate Hotels' safety and operational standards
  • prepare and submit all required financial reports on weekly, monthly, and annual cycles
  • interact with executive committee to maintain operational control and performance
  • monitor compliance with report deadlines
  • oversee the accurate production of daily operating reports
  • supervise onsite accounting team
  • execute special projects as assigned
