Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Minimum of 4 years college degree preferred
  • Experience in 4 Diamond hotel or resort environment
  • Minimum of 2 years as Department Head leading a team
  • Minimum of 2 years Catering Sales experience
  • Minimum of 2 years Event Planning experience

  • Minimum of 2 years as a Department Head leading a team
  • Minimum of 2 years Catering Sales experience
  • Minimum of 2 years Event Planning experience
  • Proven track record of individual and team success in luxury hotel event management
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to inspire and develop multicultural, multigenerational teams
  • Deep understanding of event sales, planning, and execution
  • Knowledge of budget management and forecasting
  • Up-to-date with current event trends and best practices

Job Duties

  • Lead the Event Sales and Planning Team to generate exceptional customer satisfaction and loyalty
  • Implement commercial strategic initiatives successfully and innovatively
  • Collaborate with operations to drive innovation and creativity within event delivery
  • Partner with the Director of Sales and Marketing and operations to deliver high-impact event experiences
  • Maintain high quality service standards through continuous review of processes and procedures
  • Support the sales and planning processes actively
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on event experience
  • Engage proactively with General Manager, Executive Committee, Sales, Catering and Events team members, external guests, and suppliers
  • Stay current on event trends to improve processes and share best practices
  • Represent the hotel in industry associations and events
  • Inspire and develop a high-performing, multicultural, and multigenerational team
  • Integrate company values into event initiatives and support team member and guest-centric programs
  • Lead with culture by engaging team members through meaningful interaction
  • Act as an ambassador for customer service
  • Motivate and create a productive work environment
  • Ensure career development plans are in place for Catering and Event manager roles and support succession planning
  • Maintain an open-door policy and respond to team members’ needs
  • Manage group and interpersonal conflict effectively
  • Oversee the use of all function, venue, and event spaces
  • Manage supplier and vendor relationships
  • Ensure adherence to standards and practices
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets
  • Oversee short, medium, and long-term forecasting and actual cost reporting for events
  • Incorporate current trends in event management and design
  • Participate in customer site inspections and assist with sales processes as needed
