Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • three to five years of relevant experience
  • experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and CAD
  • valid driver's license
  • current working home telephone
  • CPR/AED, first aid and forklift operator certification preferred or obtainable within 90 days
  • ability to read and interpret safety rules, instructions and manuals
  • ability to write professional documents
  • effective communication skills
  • ability to maintain composure under pressure
  • ability to perform basic math functions
  • ability to occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds
  • ability to work long irregular hours
  • ability to train and supervise staff
  • compliance with OSHA requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
  • three to five years of successful experience in public assembly facilities operation including front and back of house, life safety and security, event production, budget management and personnel management or related experience and/or training
  • experience working in a computer network environment utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel and CAD programs
  • ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • ability to write professional procedures, reports and correspondence
  • ability to deal effectively and courteously with lessees, user groups, their representatives and the general public
  • ability to maintain a calm, composed presence in a fast-paced environment
  • ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions

Job Duties

  • Ensure all events are coordinated, produced, and executed in a professional manner
  • oversee personnel including setup and event staffing and contract labor
  • plan and coordinate a variety of facility set-ups including family shows, concerts, sports and trade shows, conferences and banquet configurations
  • train, plan, schedule, supervise, discipline and assign full- and part-time employees engaged in preparing for events, meetings, or other assemblies
  • ensure all physical plant systems within the facility are complete and operating correctly according to performance specifications
  • oversee cleaning and maintenance of building, grounds and equipment including the development and monitoring of third-party vendor contracts
  • ensure an effective, cost-efficient operation by helping to prepare and administer annual budget
