Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field
- Minimum 3 years of meeting planner experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet applications
- Familiarity with brand specific property management systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Leadership experience in hiring, coaching, conducting evaluations and disciplinary actions

Job Duties
- Act as onsite contact for all assigned groups
- Work with the customer to produce Event Orders and Convention Resumes
- Ensure all special arrangements such as food and beverage, audio visual, and other requests are documented and signed by authorized client representative
- Distribute event orders and resumes to the appropriate departments and follow up on any questions
- Maintain detailed files, notes, records, and trace systems to ensure event meets customer expectations
- Verify space requirements and meeting room set-up with the client
- Confirm revisions in agendas, room blocks and notify departments
- Finalize programs/agendas with clients and check all scheduled functions prior to start time
- Review event sheets and coordinate with departments to ensure quality and satisfaction
- Maintain positive guest and employee relations through prompt and courteous communication
- Lead, train, mentor, and manage staff including hiring, coaching, evaluations, disciplinary actions and terminations
- Drive incremental revenues and ensure quarterly and annual revenue goals
- Direct convention team efforts for revenue maximization including upsell of décor, food, and beverage compositions
- Maintain rapport with local civic groups and companies
- Ensure customer service and satisfaction quality standards are met
- Host pre-convention meetings and weekly resume and menu reading meetings
- Perform other duties as assigned
