Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 4 years experience in event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or related professional area
  • OR 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major
  • 2 years experience in event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or related professional area
  • strong leadership and communication skills
  • ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • must be able to work full time
  • located at The Westin Pittsburgh and not remote

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 4 years experience in event management, food and beverage, sales, or marketing
  • OR 2-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related field with 2 years experience

Job Duties

  • Manage and lead event service staff
  • act as liaison between Banquets/Catering, Event Technology, Event Planning, Sales, and customers
  • ensure execution of events based on catering/event service/food and beverage standard operating procedures
  • oversee adherence to Red Coat Program by all Event Service Managers
  • achieve guest and employee satisfaction
  • assist in managing financial performance of the department
  • identify up-selling opportunities and suggest event enhancements
  • coordinate capital resource projects
  • consult with customers to determine event objectives and requirements
  • communicate departmental goals and ensure team alignment
  • integrate brand and business initiatives
  • develop relationships with outside vendors and establish service agreements
  • ensure compliance with laws and regulations
  • review event operations and staffing levels
  • manage emergency procedures and communication across event operations
