Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED
  • 4 years experience in event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or related professional area
  • OR 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major
  • 2 years experience in event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or related professional area
  • ability to manage budgets and team operations
  • strong leadership and communication skills
  • knowledge of safety and compliance procedures
  • availability to work full time
  • willingness to participate in audits and certification processes

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • manages all event service, banquet and event technology operations and staff on a daily basis
  • works with the management team to develop and implement business plans and long-term strategies for event operations
  • establishes and monitors measurable goals for the department
  • champions all standards, policies and procedures in the Event Operations departments
  • oversees execution of event logistics for all events
  • ensures function space and corresponding areas are maintained and clean
  • ensures furniture and equipment are maintained and inventory is managed according to guidelines
  • communicates and executes departmental and property emergency procedures and ensures staff training
  • participates in MVP audits and ensures employee certifications are maintained
  • assists with implementation and execution of corporate event initiatives and promotions
  • ensures department works within budget and adjusts expenditures
  • reviews effectiveness of event operations and makes adjustments
  • consults with customers to determine objectives and requirements for events
  • provides leadership in guest hospitality and exceptional customer service
  • leads event management/operations meetings and coordinates Event Operations members
  • works with culinary team on food handling and sanitation compliance
  • ensures compliance with applicable laws through collaboration with Human Resources
  • maintains communication across all areas of event operations
  • communicates effectively with property departments and external stakeholders
  • reviews staffing levels and schedules
  • attends pre-event meetings to gather information and set expectations
  • manages disciplinary procedures according to SOPs
  • maximizes revenue through up-selling during events
  • manages profit by cost control
