Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 4 years experience in event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or related professional area
  • OR 2-year degree from accredited university in hotel and restaurant management, hospitality, business administration, or related major
  • 2 years experience in event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or related professional area

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Research and analyze new products, pricing, and services of competition
  • Review scheduled events and troubleshoot potential challenges or conflicts
  • Ensure property is apprised of all groups impacting operations
  • Collaborate with culinary team to ensure food handling and sanitation compliance
  • Oversee event operations including banquets, event services, and event technology
  • Lead event planning team
  • Ensure meeting spaces and heart of the house areas are cleaned and maintained
  • Maintain furniture and equipment inventory according to corporate guidelines
  • Lead execution of brand service initiatives in event management
  • Develop and execute event management strategy aligned with brand business strategy
  • Set expectations and hold event management leadership accountable for service behaviors
  • Communicate clear and consistent departmental goals
  • Identify key business success drivers and keep team focused
  • Integrate departmental goals in game plans
  • Implement brand and regional business initiatives
  • Introduce ideas to remain competitive
  • Encourage calculated risk-taking to increase revenue and guest service
  • Work directly with major groups for high-profile events
  • Develop relationships with vendors and negotiate prices and service agreements
  • Create atmosphere exceeding guest expectations
  • Consult with customers to determine event objectives and requirements
  • Work with HR to ensure compliance with laws and regulations
