Job Description
Urban Juncture Foundation is a dedicated nonprofit organization committed to revitalizing and strengthening community business ecosystems, primarily focusing on historically disinvested neighborhoods such as Chicago's Bronzeville. Founded with the mission to ignite sustainable economic development through community-led initiatives, Urban Juncture partners with local organizations, stakeholders, and residents to identify, highlight, and directly address the systemic root causes of economic decline and social disconnection within the community. Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Proven experience in community engagement or partnership development
- Ability to work flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
- Capacity to sit and stand for prolonged periods and walk short distances
- Proficiency in standard office equipment
- Strong communication skills
- Detail-oriented and able to prioritize multiple projects
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 15 years professional experience
- Strong project management skills
- Excellent writing and storytelling skills
- Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities
- Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals
- Rooted in Chicago's South Side communities with strong Bronzeville connections
- Self starter and collaborative
- Sound judgment and values driven
Job Duties
- Co-lead resource development initiatives
- Expand and manage network of partners, patrons, and volunteers
- Build Bronzeville Internship program
- Support current community outreach efforts including Bronzeville Fit (B-Fit), B is for Bronzeville, and Train of Thoughts
- Lead storytelling and social media outreach
- Curate key placemaking events such as Block Party and Halloween Jam
- Manage Engage Bronzeville team members leading Bronzeville Community Garden, Green Line Farm, and Boxville Green House
- Support engagement efforts in other Build Bronzeville initiatives
- Track engagement and resource development efforts
