Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in dining services management
  • Valid food safety certification
  • Ability to work full time
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficient in financial and operational reporting
  • Leadership and supervisory skills
  • Ability to maintain compliance with health and safety regulations

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience managing dining services operations, preferably in senior living or healthcare
  • Strong financial management skills including budgeting and P&L analysis
  • Proven leadership and team management experience
  • Proficiency in food safety, sanitation, and quality control standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage vendor relationships and procurement
  • Skilled in problem-solving and project management
  • Customer-service oriented with a professional demeanor

Job Duties

  • Direct and assist Executive Chef and staff in menu writing, cycle of cost control, food production, execution, and presentation
  • Ensure quality of all food products meets standards
  • Oversee all aspects of catering operations
  • Maintain vendor relationships and monitor vendor purchasing guidelines
  • Assist Executive Chef in oversight of supplies, equipment, and work areas
  • Arrange equipment purchases or repairs as needed
  • Oversee purchasing of food and supplies ensuring efficiency and quality control
  • Determine production schedules and staff requirements including payroll processing
  • Ensure company standards for safety, food handling, sanitation, uniforms, and productivity
  • Create, compile, and record production or operational data
  • Develop procedures and strategies to improve unit performance
  • Ensure compliance with contractual requirements
  • Participate in business review process and client communication
  • Manage department controllable expenses including food costs, labor, supplies, uniforms, and equipment
  • Generate financial reports, assist in budgeting, and conduct P&L analysis
  • Oversee inventory management and price updates
  • Participate in monthly P&L reviews with corporate office
  • Manage performance and development of direct and indirect reports
  • Motivate employees through communication and team meetings
  • Train and supervise staff in food preparation and presentation
  • Provide superior customer service including greeting and thanking customers
  • Perform other duties as assigned
