Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum eight years progressive experience in food service industry
- At least three years supervisory experience
- Current ServSafe Certification
- Ability to obtain required food handling licenses
- Strong leadership skills
- Ability to manage budgets and inventories
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work occasional weekends and evenings
- Physical ability to perform job duties including lifting up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to travel occasionally
Job Qualifications
- College degree in food service or hospitality management preferred
- Minimum eight years progressive food service experience including three years in supervisory role
- Experience managing food inventories and budgets
- Current ServSafe Certification
- Ability to obtain local, state, or county food handling licenses
- Extensive knowledge of food preparation and delivery
- Understanding of dining and nutritional needs of residents
- Strong management and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local food safety regulations
Job Duties
- Directs food service operations including food preparation, dining room operations, and delivery services
- Purchases food and manages inventory to ensure cost control and quality
- Ensures nutrition and food quality meet health standards
- Complies with federal, state, and local sanitation and safety regulations
- Plans and executes entertaining dining events and themes with activity and marketing directors
- Hires, trains, and manages supervisory staff in kitchen and dining services
- Develops and maintains pleasing and nutritious menus based on resident preferences and dietary needs
- Develops department budgets and monitors compliance
- Improves dining room decor and encourages socialization through food presentation
- Networks with Regional Food Service Directors to improve operations and reduce costs
