Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum eight years progressive experience in food service industry
  • At least three years supervisory experience
  • Current ServSafe Certification
  • Ability to obtain required food handling licenses
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to manage budgets and inventories
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work occasional weekends and evenings
  • Physical ability to perform job duties including lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Willingness to travel occasionally

Job Qualifications

  • College degree in food service or hospitality management preferred
  • Minimum eight years progressive food service experience including three years in supervisory role
  • Experience managing food inventories and budgets
  • Current ServSafe Certification
  • Ability to obtain local, state, or county food handling licenses
  • Extensive knowledge of food preparation and delivery
  • Understanding of dining and nutritional needs of residents
  • Strong management and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local food safety regulations

Job Duties

  • Directs food service operations including food preparation, dining room operations, and delivery services
  • Purchases food and manages inventory to ensure cost control and quality
  • Ensures nutrition and food quality meet health standards
  • Complies with federal, state, and local sanitation and safety regulations
  • Plans and executes entertaining dining events and themes with activity and marketing directors
  • Hires, trains, and manages supervisory staff in kitchen and dining services
  • Develops and maintains pleasing and nutritious menus based on resident preferences and dietary needs
  • Develops department budgets and monitors compliance
  • Improves dining room decor and encourages socialization through food presentation
  • Networks with Regional Food Service Directors to improve operations and reduce costs
