Job Requirements

  • 8-12 years of progressive leadership experience in luxury hotel culinary and banquet operations
  • prior experience as Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef preferred
  • culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • food safety certification required
  • demonstrated financial management skills
  • strong leadership and communication abilities
  • experience in menu development and cost control
  • ability to manage high-profile events and client relationships
  • proficiency in coordinating cross-departmental teams

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Oversee all banquet culinary operations including menu development, preparation, and presentation
  • design innovative seasonal and custom menus reflecting Texas influence and regional ingredients
  • ensure culinary offerings align with The Driskill's historic identity and luxury positioning
  • maintain rigorous quality control and food safety standards
  • lead and mentor culinary leaders, cooks, and stewards fostering accountability and continuous improvement
  • manage the full execution of weddings, corporate meetings, galas, and high-profile social events
  • lead banquet managers, captains, servers, and bartenders to deliver seamless service
  • establish and enforce elevated service choreography and presentation standards
  • coordinate effectively between culinary, banquet operations, sales, and external vendors
  • maintain visible leadership presence during key events
  • build strong relationships with meeting planners, social hosts, and VIP clients
  • serve as senior operational contact for high-profile and signature events
  • develop and manage annual budgets for culinary and event operations
  • drive banquet revenue growth and margin optimization through menu engineering and labor modeling
  • monitor food cost, labor productivity, and event profitability
  • oversee inventory controls and purchasing coordination
  • implement efficient payroll and workforce planning
  • analyze financial performance and identify improvements
