Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 5 to 8 years experience in hospitality industry
  • Minimum 3 years catering sales experience
  • Ability to supervise food preparation and event setup
  • Knowledge of safety and sanitation procedures
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Proficient with computer software such as Excel and PowerPoint

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent professional experience
  • Proven track record for meeting sales goals
  • Strong knowledge of current food industry trends and fine dining points of service
  • Minimum of five to eight years of experience in hospitality including three years in catering sales
  • Supervisory, scheduling, training and coaching skills
  • Ability to assess client requirements and ensure satisfaction
  • Skilled in writing menu proposals with chefs
  • Ability to supervise food preparation, service and clean-up
  • Knowledge of A/V equipment set up and break down
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving and strategizing skills
  • Strong leadership and organizational abilities
  • Proficient computer skills including advanced Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changes
  • High standards of personal integrity and ethical behavior
  • Exceptional client relations and customer service skills

Job Duties

  • Hire, train and develop managers
  • Create reports of operating statements and operational budgets
  • Oversee catering activities, books, plans and directed functions
  • Create proposals, contracts and banquet event orders
  • Ensure all safety and sanitation procedures are followed in compliance with HACCP
  • Maintain local clients database and build and maintain relationships with vendors
  • Prepare and monitor budgets, financial targets and forecasts
