Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years experience in catering or related sales and leadership roles
- Must speak fluent English
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
- Ability to travel for work-related events
- May require a valid driver's license
- Must maintain professional appearance and demeanor
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field or equivalent
- 3+ years experience in a catering setting or related field with direct supervisory experience over sales/catering team or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Fluent English speaker
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Demonstrable expertise in analysis and decision making
- Appropriate professional appearance and demeanor
- Ability to read, write, and interpret reports and instructions
- Mathematical skills including budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances
- Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays
- Ability to travel for workshops, tradeshows, and conventions
- Valid driver's license may be required

Job Duties
- Direct the day-to-day activities of the catering and conference services team
- Advise staff of formal policies and procedures
- Develop and maintain relationships with key clients in support of food and beverage sales and catering/banquet services
- Establish client base through direct outside sales efforts to secure business for the hotel
- Review all sales contracts, rate agreements, and banquet/catering event orders accurately
- Identify operational problems affecting catering sales performance and collaborate on solutions
- Conduct banquet and catering facility tours and entertain clients per company policy
- Assist clients with menu planning, food and beverage coordination, table arrangements, decoration options, and event logistics
- Arrange all details for conventions and catering events including room setups, staging, lighting, audiovisual, traffic flow, menus, décor, entertainment, group room blocks, VIP services, and payment methods
- Promote teamwork and quality service through coordination with Executive Chef, sales staff, banquet and convention services teams, and hotel executives
- Interact with guests, vendors, and external contacts to ensure satisfaction and arrange services
- Schedule conventions and business group activities coordinating with departments to facilitate services
- Monitor function setups, refreshes, and break downs complying with schedules and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Serve as manager on duty when required
- Negotiate food and beverage prices, function space, and hotel services within booking guidelines
- Plan and conduct pre-event and post-event meetings with clients and catering staff
- Assist in preparation of annual departmental operating budget and financial plans
- Review daily posting of charges and resolve discrepancies
- Achieve budgeted revenues and personal sales goals
- Complete forecasts, plans, and sales production reports
- Attract and retain top talent
- Develop and motivate the catering team
- Recommend salary, disciplinary, or staffing actions according to company policy
- Ensure team members receive proper training
- Monitor and recognize team performance
- Support and promote company policies and initiatives
- Handle employee issues professionally
- Lead by example with integrity and respect
