Job Requirements
- Minimum education of high school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum five years of progressive sales experience
- Proven ability to exceed sales goals
- Prior sales leadership experience preferred
- Aggressive negotiating skills
- Ability to conduct internet research and prospecting
- Weekly prospecting and soliciting goals
- Effective up-selling and customer relationship skills
- Knowledge of banquet and event service operations
- Ability to manage guest room and meeting space inventories
- Strong financial and operational knowledge
- Effective communication and decision-making skills
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 10 pounds
Job Qualifications
- Minimum five years of progressive sales experience

- Previous sales leadership experience preferred
- Aggressive negotiating skills and creative selling abilities
- Ability to conduct research and prospect new customers
- Effective sales skills to up-sell products and services
- Knowledge of menu planning, food presentation, banquet and event service operations
- Strong customer development and relationship management skills
- Knowledge of event technology products and services
- Financial management skills including understanding P&L statements, forecasting and scheduling
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Job Duties
- Plan and manage sales effort of the hotel’s Catering Department to achieve customer satisfaction and quality service while meeting/exceeding revenue/profit goals
- Utilize prospecting skills and strong business sense to exceed catering revenue goals
- Recruit, deploy, motivate, support and grow a team of Catering Sales and Convention Service Managers
- Report and critique all catering activities to the Cluster Director of Sales & Marketing
- Create and maintain an office environment conducive to effective selling and customer advocacy
- Oversee hiring and training of catering sales managers and hourly associates
- Coach and mentor catering related sales managers to develop sales skills and performance improvement
