Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- minimum 3-5 years in food and beverage or event operations management
- demonstrated leadership skills in managing teams
- ability to work full-time with flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- proficient with computer systems
- strong organizational and creative skills
- ability to manage complex business situations
- experience with banquet service operations
- prior union environment experience preferred

- 3-5 years in food and beverage or event operations management leadership role
- banquet experience preferred
- full-time management position with full flexibility including weekends, holidays, and variable schedule
- strong desire to understand and anticipate needs in a fast-paced environment
- refined verbal and written communication skills
- proficiency in general computer knowledge
- creativity, innovation, detail orientation, and organization
- hotel or equivalent experience with thorough understanding of banquet service
Job Duties
- Direct and lead the Event Services (Banquets), Event Services Set-Up, and Event Services (Banquet) Beverage departments
- Work closely with Events Management (Catering and Convention Services) and other Hotel Operations departments
- Coach and motivate employees to achieve exceptional guest service results and department engagement
- Lead and develop managers, assistant managers, and supervisors
- Quickly understand and respond to complex business matters
- Impact and achieve Meeting Planner satisfaction scores
- Ensure proactive communication and execute client changes by reviewing Banquet Event Orders daily
- Manage appropriate and timely setup of all functions and meetings maintaining standards of food, beverage, and meeting specifications
- Review staffing and equipment needs proactively
- Coordinate and execute all events with Culinary, Stewarding, Catering/Convention Services, Event Services, Set-Up Floor, and Beverage
- Develop innovative and creative décor for banquet function space
- Manage short and long-term banquet functions in front and back of house
- Create an environment with highest standards of quality service through hiring, training, development, promotion, and reinforcement
- Facilitate payroll, reports, forecasts, point of sale procedures, inventory, and budget for food and beverage functions
- Perform daily walk-throughs in banquet department and function spaces to ensure compliance with health regulations and Hyatt standards
- Develop ideas for special events and holiday functions
- Manage or work in a unionized environment preferred
