Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum four years experience in event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or related field
- Or two-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major
- At least two years experience in a related professional area
- Ability to lead and manage diverse teams
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in budgeting and financial management
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations
- Excellent customer service orientation
- Effective communication skills
- Availability to work full time at Marriott St. Louis Grand location
Job Qualifications

- Or two-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major with two years related experience
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Knowledge of event logistics and operations
- Ability to manage budgets and maximize profitability
- Familiarity with safety procedures and regulatory compliance
- Proficiency in coordinating multi-departmental functions
- Experience in conducting employee training and performance review processes
Job Duties
- Manage all event service, banquet and event technology operations and staff on a daily basis
- Develop and implement business plans and long term strategies for event operations
- Establish and monitor measurable goals for the department
- Oversee event logistics and administrative processes for event phases
- Ensure function spaces and equipment are maintained according to guidelines
- Communicate and enforce safety and emergency procedures
- Participate in audits and maintain employee certifications
- Manage departmental budget and adjust expenditures according to revenues
- Integrate current trends in event management
- Consult with customers to determine event objectives and requirements
- Lead event operations meetings and coordinate team activities
- Work with culinary and HR teams to ensure compliance with standards and regulations
- Maintain effective communication across property departments and with guests, clients, and vendors
- Review staffing levels and address scheduling challenges
- Attend pre-event meetings to set expectations and gather information
- Ensure disciplinary procedures are followed according to SOPs and LSOPs
