Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- 4-6 years experience preferred
- Customs Broker License preferred
- Experience in trade compliance and international transportation operations
- Strong leadership and strategic planning skills
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and ensure compliance with federal regulations
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Proven ability to develop and implement process improvements
- Experience recruiting and managing staff
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- 4-6 years of experience preferred
- Experience with customs entry and compliance
- Knowledge of HTS classification
- Strong leadership skills
- Experience managing international transportation and third-party service providers
- Familiarity with CTPAT certification and customs regulations
- Ability to liaise effectively with government agencies
- Strategic planning and process improvement experience
- Experience leading and developing teams
Job Duties
- Maintain strong engagement with industry best-practice and trends to ensure alignment of goals and compliance with regulatory authorities
- Provide leadership and strategic planning for company initiatives
- Take proactive approach to identifying trends and facilitate collaboration with internal and external constituents to deliver results and prevent recurring issues
- Develop and maintain strong partnership with U.S. Customs and Border Protection and partner government agencies for trade compliance
- Engage with U.S. and regional governmental officials on trade compliance efforts related to policy matters and issue resolution
- Liaise with regional and global trade compliance groups to facilitate compliance with policies and regulations
- Ensure company maintains low risk importer status by overseeing ISA, CTPAT, security and entry compliance
- Implement process improvements and policies to meet company goals
- Work effectively with staff and management to achieve financial and merchandising solutions
- Provide leadership that maximizes resources in support of company goals
- Recruit, train, mentor and develop an engaged and diverse organization ensuring high service, productivity, safety and quality
- Manage direct reports including staffing, training, performance assessment and disciplinary actions
- Ensure team goals are aggressive and aligned with broader organizational goals
- Lead development of strategy and future capabilities in line with company’s strategic direction
- Drive development and attainment of short and long-range goals by reviewing activities, costs, and operations
