Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or college degree
  • Must meet educational and experience standards set by USDA Professional Standards
  • Must be relocatable and able to train at select districts
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Minimum 1 year customer service or hospitality experience
  • Must have working knowledge of kitchen functions and equipment
  • Proficient in computer use and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Able to perform basic arithmetic functions
  • Minimum 1 year supervisory experience preferred
  • Possession of Serve Safe and SNA Level 1 Certifications
  • Able to lift objects up to 25 pounds
  • Able to work in varying physical and environmental conditions including heat, cold, and noise

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or college degree
  • Must meet educational and experience requirements outlined in USDA Professional Standards
  • Minimum 1 year customer service or hospitality experience
  • Working knowledge of all kitchen functions and equipment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Basic math skills including the ability to adjust recipes and interpret written, oral, or diagram instructions
  • Minimum 1 year supervisory experience preferred
  • Possession of Serve Safe Certification and SNA Level 1 Certification as required

Job Duties

  • Forecast and communicate daily production needs to subordinate staff
  • Ensure daily accurate production records in compliance with Opaa! and DESE requirements
  • Operate within cost per meal parameters for food, labor, direct costs, and supplies
  • Ensure timely, efficient, and quality meal production and service
  • Monitor food and food preparation to maintain quality, presentation, and sanitation standards
  • Investigate and resolve food quality and service complaints to promote excellent customer service
  • Coordinate preparation and transportation of meals to satellite buildings, where applicable
