Job Qualifications

  • At least 6 years of progressive experience in hotel or related field, or a 4-year degree with 3 years related experience, or a 2-year degree with 4 or more years related experience
  • 5 years of food and beverage leadership experience in multi-outlet and banquet environments
  • Proficient in Windows and company-approved spreadsheets and word processing
  • Knowledge of food and beverage preparation, health department rules, liquor laws, and regulations
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Service-oriented with attentive and courteous demeanor
  • Attendance at required trainings and meetings
  • Ability to participate in manager on duty coverage
  • Maintain compliance with Highgate standards
  • Skilled in problem-solving and confidentiality
  • Maintain warm and friendly demeanor

Job Duties

  • Be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to guests, managers, and employees
  • Supervise all food and beverage personnel
  • Respond promptly to guest complaints
  • Prepare and monitor the food and beverage budget
  • Monitor industry trends to maintain profitable operations
  • Collaborate with Executive Committee and report on food and beverage issues
  • Coordinate and monitor loss prevention in the department
  • Organize and conduct regular department meetings
  • Monitor quality of service and product
  • Cooperate in menu planning and preparation
  • Ensure timely purchasing within budget
  • Oversee employee cafeteria operations
  • Ensure compliance with liquor, health, and sanitation regulations
  • Ensure department follows SOPs
  • Train department heads on SOPs and job tasks
  • Interview and hire front-of-house staff
  • Conduct and attend required meetings
  • Ensure overall guest satisfaction
