Job Requirements

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, inclusive of weekends, nights and holidays
  • Ability to monitor company communications and respond to time-sensitive matters with senior executives
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and move around the venue for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed
  • Requires occasional bending, squatting, and reaching overhead
  • Must be capable of working in physically demanding environments including stairs, ramps, and elevated platforms
  • Ability to work outdoors continuously for extended periods in all weather conditions

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business, marketing, or hospitality a plus
  • Minimum of 10 years of related business experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of event revenue experience
  • Hospitality, entertainment and corporate or B2B sales background preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate when appropriate
  • Ability to function in a high-paced environment

Job Duties

  • Lead a team that develops, markets, and sells public events that utilize the Riverfront District and CPKC Stadium
  • Design and execute self-operated public events that drive revenue, brand affinity, and traffic to the Riverfront
  • Negotiate and win business from promoters of third-party events for the purpose of maximizing revenues and minimizing expenses
  • Implement a marketing and sales strategy to identify and attract revenue generating activities to both venues
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with the local events industry
  • Establish processes and maintain fiscal responsibility in line with organizational and departmental goals
  • Analyze event performance(s) and prepare metrics presentation
