Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in child development, family and human studies, family and consumer sciences, early childhood education, or related field
- Full-time paid experience working in a childcare center
- Meet the pedagogical and operational administrator qualifications from NAEYC
- Nine higher education credits in business and program administration or recognized administrator credentials
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Must maintain a permanent residence within Utah
- Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds
- Ability to engage actively with children through movement and play activities
- Willingness to regularly encounter bodily fluids and communicable illnesses
- Successful completion of a criminal background check
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Family and Human Studies, Family and Consumer Sciences, Early Childhood Education, or related field
- Full-time paid work experience in a childcare center
- Meets NAEYC pedagogical and operational administrator qualifications
- Knowledge of NAEYC accreditation requirements
- Familiarity with Utah State Licensing regulations
- Proven leadership and administrative skills
- Ability to manage budgets and financial records
- Effective communication skills across diverse populations
- Experience in early childhood education program development
- Ability to train and supervise childcare staff
- Capacity to foster cooperative relationships among employees
- Computer proficiency including word processing and spreadsheets
- Ability to handle behavioral issues and mediate with parents and staff
- Preferred: Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education
- Experience managing a large childcare facility and budget
- Experience with childcare management software
- Full-time experience in a childcare lab school in higher education
Job Duties
- Plan, develop, and lead the state-licensed childcare facility and lab school
- Oversee adherence to National Association for the Education of Young Children accreditation standards
- Manage and evaluate childcare staff and programs for SLCC Taylorsville Redwood Campus
- Collaborate with Family and Human Studies academic department to align childcare services with educational goals
- Ensure compliance with all licensing regulations, safety standards, and emergency preparedness protocols
- Develop and monitor budget, overseeing all revenue and expenses related to Eccles Lab School operations
- Maintain contractual relationships with the Head Start program and negotiate payment agreements with families
- Administer the federal Child and Adult Care Food Program and ensure proper financial reporting
- Engage in outreach with community partners, vendors, and educational institutions to support childcare programming
- Serve as building safety officer and participate in emergency response efforts
- Support college students in assignments, provide recommendations, and collaborate on research
- Ensure kitchen compliance with food service regulations providing meals for children
- Provide professional development training for early care and education providers
- Maintain accreditation and act as liaison between SLCC and childcare licensing authorities
- Participate in college and community committees and foster positive relationships across stakeholders
