Job Requirements

  • Five or more years culinary experience in the hospitality industry
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Food handlers permit as required by state law or company standards
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to comply with company motor vehicle policy standards
  • Position may require driving responsibilities using company or personal vehicle

Job Qualifications

  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Ability to resolve problems of dissatisfied customers or employees
  • Food handlers permit as required by state law or company standards

  • Ability to comply with company motor vehicle policy standards

Job Duties

  • Manage and supervise all Culinary Services staff including scheduling, assignments, performance reviews, hiring and corrective actions
  • Meet regularly with residents and family members to confirm high satisfaction levels
  • Collaborate with restaurant manager or coordinator to ensure high levels of customer service and restaurant-style dining atmosphere
  • Ensure front-of-house and back-of-house staff work closely to deliver food that exceeds resident and guest expectations
  • Assist kitchen and restaurant staff across all stations as needed
  • Maintain customer satisfaction and quality enhancement levels at or above target scores
  • Delegate tasks to maintain highest cleanliness and quality standards in kitchen and restaurant areas
  • Ensure food is prepared, stored and served according to company standards and health codes
  • Maintain employee satisfaction scores at or above target levels
  • Interview and hire Culinary Services staff
  • Conduct and participate in monthly department meetings and in-services
  • Manage monthly and annual Culinary Services budget with documentation of expenses
  • Develop recipes and menus based on resident preferences and budget constraints
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of kitchen equipment
  • Maintain appropriate inventory of kitchen supplies and tableware
  • Uphold purchasing standards and maintain vendor relationships
  • Plan and execute special events, banquets, and theme meals
  • Collaborate with Community Sales Director to market the community through events and signature items
  • Ensure staff understand company expectations and first impression standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned
