Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- five or more years of culinary experience in the hospitality industry
- possession of a food handlers permit as required by state law and company standards
- basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
- valid driver’s license
- ability to comply with company motor vehicle policies
- capability to manage culinary staff and kitchen operations
- strong organizational skills
- ability to resolve customer and employee issues
- availability for driving duties
- strong leadership and communication skills
Job Qualifications
- Five or more years culinary experience in the hospitality industry
- high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- strong organization and time management skills
- ability to resolve problems of dissatisfied customers and employees
- food handlers permit as required by state law and company standards
- basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
- valid driver’s license
- compliance with company motor vehicle policy
- ability to undertake driving responsibilities with company or personal vehicle
Job Duties
- Manage and supervise all culinary services staff including scheduling, assignment, direction, performance review, hiring, and corrective actions
- meet regularly with residents and family members to maintain high satisfaction levels
- collaborate with restaurant managers to provide high levels of customer service and create a restaurant-style dining atmosphere
- ensure coordination between front of house and back of house staff to deliver excellent food products
- assist with back and front of house operations as needed, including working all stations
- maintain customer satisfaction and quality enhancement levels in partnership with executive leadership
- delegate tasks to maintain cleanliness and quality standards in kitchen and restaurant areas
- ensure food preparation, storage, and service comply with company and health code standards
- maintain employee satisfaction scores
- recruit and hire culinary services department staff
- conduct monthly department meetings and in-services
- understand and manage monthly and annual culinary budgets
- develop recipes and menus based on resident preferences and budget
- ensure proper use and maintenance of kitchen equipment
- maintain inventory of kitchen supplies and tableware
- manage purchasing standards and vendor relationships
- plan, prepare, and execute Engage Life events, special events, banquets, and theme meals
- collaborate with community sales director to market community through events and signature items
- ensure staff understands company expectations and first impression requirements
- perform other duties as assigned
