Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Five or more years culinary experience in the hospitality industry
  • Food handlers permit as required by state law or company standards
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Must satisfactorily meet and comply with company motor vehicle policy standards
  • Ability to resolve problems of dissatisfied customers and employees
  • Position may require driving responsibilities

Job Duties

  • Manage and supervise all Culinary Services staff including scheduling, assignment, performance reviews, hiring, and corrective actions
  • Meet regularly with residents and family members to ensure high satisfaction levels
  • Collaborate with the restaurant manager or coordinator to provide high levels of customer service and create a restaurant style dining atmosphere
  • Ensure close cooperation between front of house and back of house staff to exceed resident and guest expectations
  • Assist kitchen and restaurant staff with operations as needed, including working all stations
  • Maintain customer satisfaction and quality enhancement scores
  • Delegate tasks to maintain kitchen and restaurant cleanliness and quality
  • Ensure food preparation, storage, and service comply with company standards and health codes
  • Maintain employee satisfaction scores
  • Conduct interviews and hire culinary services staff
  • Participate in monthly department meetings and in-services
  • Manage monthly and annual culinary service budgets and produce written documentation of expenses
  • Plan and develop menus and recipes based on resident preferences and budgets
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment
  • Maintain inventory of kitchen supplies and tableware
  • Manage purchasing standards and vendor relationships
  • Plan and execute Engage Life events, special events, banquets, and theme meals
  • Collaborate with community sales director on marketing initiatives
  • Ensure kitchen and restaurant staff understand company expectations and first impression standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested
