Job Requirements

  • Five or more years culinary experience in the hospitality industry
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Able to resolve problems of dissatisfied customers and employees
  • Food handlers permit as required by state law and/or company standards
  • Basic computer skills – Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Position may require driving responsibilities using company vehicle and/or personal vehicle
  • Must possess valid driver’s license
  • Must meet and comply with company motor vehicle policy standards

Job Duties

  • Manage and supervise culinary services staff including scheduling, assignments, hiring, performance reviews, and corrective actions
  • Meet regularly with residents and family members to ensure high satisfaction levels
  • Collaborate with restaurant manager to create a restaurant-style dining atmosphere
  • Ensure front-of-house and back-of-house teams work closely to exceed food quality expectations
  • Assist kitchen and restaurant staff with operations across all stations as needed
  • Maintain department customer satisfaction and quality enhancement scores
  • Delegate tasks effectively to maintain cleanliness and quality standards
  • Ensure food preparation, storage, and service comply with company standards and health codes
  • Maintain employee satisfaction scores at or above designated levels
  • Interview and hire culinary staff
  • Conduct monthly department meetings and in-services
  • Manage monthly and annual budgets for food, supplies, and labor, including documentation
  • Plan and develop menus and recipes based on resident preferences and budget
  • Maintain proper use and maintenance of equipment
  • Oversee inventory of kitchen supplies, small wares, and tableware
  • Ensure purchasing standards and vendor relationships are maintained
  • Plan and execute special events, banquets, and themed meals
  • Collaborate with sales and community staff on marketing initiatives like "Taste of Atria" roadshows
  • Ensure staff understand company expectations and first impression requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested
