Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Five or more years culinary experience in the hospitality industry
  • Food handlers permit as required by state law and or company standards
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Valid driver’s license and compliance with company motor vehicle policies
  • Ability to resolve problems of dissatisfied customers or employees
  • Position may require driving company or personal vehicle

Job Duties

  • Manage and supervise culinary services staff including scheduling, assignment, direction, performance reviews, hiring, and corrective actions
  • Meet regularly with residents and family members to ensure high satisfaction levels
  • Collaborate with restaurant manager to maintain high levels of customer service and restaurant-style dining atmosphere
  • Confirm front and back of house staff work together to exceed food quality and presentation expectations
  • Assist kitchen and restaurant staff in operations including working all stations when necessary
  • Work with Executive Director and staff to maintain customer satisfaction and quality scores
  • Delegate tasks to maintain cleanliness and quality in kitchen and restaurant areas
  • Ensure food preparation, storage, and service comply with company standards and health codes
  • Maintain employee satisfaction scores
  • Interview and hire culinary services staff
  • Conduct and participate in department meetings and in-services
  • Maintain monthly and annual budgets for culinary services including food, supplies, and labor expenses
  • Plan recipes and menus based on resident preferences and budgets
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment
  • Manage inventory of kitchen supplies and tableware
  • Maintain purchasing standards and vendor relationships
  • Plan and execute Engage Life events, special events, banquets, and themed meals
  • Work with sales staff to market the community through special food events
  • Ensure all staff understand company expectations and first impression standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned
