Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Five or more years culinary experience in the hospitality industry
  • Food handlers permit as required by state law and company standards
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Must satisfactorily meet company motor vehicle policy standards
  • Ability to resolve problems of dissatisfied customers and employees
  • Position may require driving responsibilities using company or personal vehicle

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Manages and supervises culinary staff including scheduling, performance review, hiring, and corrective action
  • Meets regularly with residents and family members to maintain satisfaction
  • Works with restaurant manager/coordinator to ensure high levels of customer service and restaurant style dining atmosphere
  • Confirms collaboration between front and back of house staff to exceed food quality expectations
  • Assists kitchen and restaurant staff with operations as needed across all stations
  • Maintains customer satisfaction and quality enhancement scores with executive director
  • Delegates tasks to maintain cleanliness and quality in kitchen and restaurant areas
  • Ensures food preparation, storage, and service comply with company and health standards
  • Maintains employee satisfaction scores
  • Interviews and hires culinary services staff
  • Conducts and participates in monthly department meetings and in-services
  • Manages budgets including documentation of monthly spend on food, supplies, and labor
  • Develops recipes and menus based on resident preferences and budgets
  • Ensures proper use and maintenance of kitchen equipment
  • Maintains inventory of kitchen supplies and tableware
  • Oversees purchasing standards and vendor relationships
  • Plans and executes Engage Life events, special events, banquets, and theme meals
  • Collaborates with community sales director on marketing initiatives
  • Ensures staff understand company expectations and first impression standards
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested
