Job Requirements

  • Five or more years culinary experience in the hospitality industry
  • High school diploma or general education degree
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Able to resolve problems of dissatisfied customers and employees
  • Food handlers permit as required by state law and company standards
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Position may require driving responsibilities using company or personal vehicle
  • Must possess valid driver’s license
  • Must meet company motor vehicle policy standards

Job Duties

  • Manage and supervise culinary services staff including scheduling, assignments, direction, performance reviews, hiring, and corrective actions
  • Meet regularly with residents and family members to maintain high satisfaction levels
  • Collaborate with restaurant manager or coordinator to provide high levels of customer service and create a restaurant-style dining atmosphere
  • Ensure front of house and back of house staff work cohesively to deliver exceptional food and service
  • Assist kitchen and restaurant staff with operations, including working all stations when needed
  • Work with executive director and frontline staff to maintain department customer satisfaction and quality scores
  • Delegate tasks to maintain cleanliness and quality in kitchen and restaurant areas
  • Ensure food preparation, storage, and service comply with company standards and health codes
  • Maintain employee satisfaction scores
  • Conduct interviews and hire culinary services staff
  • Hold monthly department meetings and in-service training
  • Manage monthly and annual budgets including food, supplies, and labor spending
  • Plan and develop recipes and menus with staff and residents
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment
  • Maintain inventory of kitchen supplies and tableware
  • Oversee purchasing standards and vendor relationships
  • Plan and execute Engage Life events, special events, banquets, and themed meals
  • Work with community sales director to market the community via promotional events
  • Ensure staff understand company expectations and first impression standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned
