Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • five or more years of experience in culinary roles within hospitality
  • valid food handler’s permit
  • basic computer literacy including Microsoft Office
  • valid driver’s license and compliance with motor vehicle policies
  • strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • experience in managing staff and schedules

Job Qualifications

  • Five or more years culinary experience in the hospitality industry
  • high school diploma or GED
  • strong organization and time management skills
  • ability to resolve problems of dissatisfied customers and employees
  • food handlers permit as required by state law or company standards
  • basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • ability to drive and possess a valid driver’s license
  • compliance with company motor vehicle policy

Job Duties

  • Manage and supervise all culinary services staff including scheduling, assignment, direction, performance review, hiring, and corrective action
  • meet regularly with residents and family members to maintain high satisfaction levels
  • collaborate with restaurant manager or coordinator to create a restaurant-style dining atmosphere
  • ensure front and back of house staff work together to exceed food quality expectations
  • assist kitchen and restaurant staff with operations as needed
  • work with Executive Director and staff to maintain customer satisfaction and quality enhancement scores
  • delegate tasks to maintain cleanliness and quality in kitchen and restaurant areas
  • ensure food preparation, storage, and service comply with company and health standards
  • maintain employee satisfaction scores
  • interview and hire culinary services staff
  • conduct and participate in monthly meetings and in-services
  • manage department budgets including food, supplies, and labor expenses
  • plan and develop recipes and menus based on resident preferences and budgets
  • maintain proper use and upkeep of kitchen equipment
  • manage inventory of kitchen supplies and tableware
  • ensure purchasing standards and vendor relationships are maintained
  • plan and execute Engage Life events, special events, banquets, and theme meals
  • collaborate with Community Sales Director on marketing through events
  • ensure kitchen and restaurant staff understand company expectations
  • perform other duties as assigned
