Job Requirements
- Associate degree in culinary arts
- at least three years’ industry experience
- certification as Certified Food Protection Professional or ServSafe Manager
- certification by the American Culinary Federation in one of the specified culinary certifications
- ability to teach effectively
- ability to advise post-secondary students
- ability to lead to improve student success
- ability to establish productive relationships with faculty and industry
- knowledge of higher education technology applications
- proficiency in English
- willingness to undergo background check
- unofficial transcripts acceptable for application
- official transcripts required upon hire
Job Qualifications
- Associate degree in Culinary Arts with at least three years’ industry experience
- certification as a Certified Food Protection Professional or ServSafe Manager
- certification by the American Culinary Federation as Executive Chef or Sous Chef or Certified Pastry Chef or Chef de Cuisine or Certified Working Pastry Chef or Certified Culinary Educator
- bachelor’s or master’s degree preferred
- familiarity with accreditation processes and reporting preferred
- administrative or supervisory experience in higher education preferred
- teaching experience at the college level preferred
Job Duties
- Develops, evaluates, and continually improves academic courses and programs
- provides leadership to program curriculum development and revision
- ensures establishment of effective student learning outcomes and assessment methods
- provides regular assessment and analysis of student success
- works with faculty and staff to create a collegial, productive, and professional work environment
- ensures instructional programs meet accreditation guidelines and prepares accreditation reports
- participates in faculty hiring, orientation, and support
- assists in class schedule development and faculty teaching assignments
- supervises maintenance of program advisory committees
- supports student retention and graduation through advising
- participates in resolution of student complaints
- contributes to budget development and management
- manages instructional spaces and technology needs
- supports workforce division with employer/industry needs
- identifies and promotes faculty professional development
- coordinates work-based learning sites
- cultivates relationships with industry personnel and employers
- participates in professional organizations
- teaches courses in culinary arts, apprenticeships, and internships
- establishes and supports dual enrollment courses
- oversees kitchen and dining room functions including safety and equipment maintenance
- maintains records related to budget, equipment, facilities, and safety
- assists in student recruitment and community outreach activities
