Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in health, social work or related disciplines required
- knowledge of community and local health systems
- knowledge of the nonprofit organization community in Dane County
- highly effective written and oral communication skills
- strong strategic thinking, interpersonal and analytical skills
- ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds
- excellent organizational and time management skills
- demonstrated leadership ability, facilitation skills, strategic thinking and accountability to create measurable results
- ability to work in and create direct relationships with top level community, corporate and United Way leadership
- ability to develop strong sense of organization’s brand and use in making strategic decisions
- team orientation with a demonstrated ability to organize and motivate teams involving staff, external resources, and volunteers at all levels
- self-motivated and strong track record of getting results
- ability to maintain confidentiality
- at least three years of progressively responsible leadership experience in health, social services, nonprofit service delivery, management, or related field
- minimum of two years of supervisory experience
- experience building partnerships with diverse stakeholders
- volunteer management experience
- experience conducting needs assessments
- knowledge of social service systems, programs, and grants management
- experience designing programs in partnership with analytics, talent, culture and/or learning and development
- ability to build and manage productive relationships through an open, friendly, and inclusive environment
- able to successfully facilitate/lead diverse groups, build consensus and facilitate collaboration
- able to meet deadlines and be flexible
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high organizational and interpersonal skills
- proficiency with Microsoft Office including Microsoft 365, PowerPoint, word processing and spreadsheets
- ability to learn client data management platforms
- position begins after January 1st, 2026
- full-time salaried position (40 hours/week)
- core hours Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
- flexibility required for early mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays
- primary work location is Anderson United Way Center
- hybrid/remote work eligibility subject to Employee Handbook guidelines
- local travel within Dane County required with reliable transportation

Job Duties
- Lead healthy community stakeholder engagement through collective impact
- represent United Way and facilitate collaboration among stakeholders
- acquire and maintain up-to-date knowledge on community systems and best practices
- connect or provide technical assistance to partner agencies
- develop, convene, and implement partnership initiatives
- represent United Way on community task forces and commissions
- coordinate activities and communication with partner organizations
- lead community engagement and listening sessions
- support and manage pilot programming and special projects
- lead marketing and public relations for health impact area
- create content for published reports
- recruit, staff, and support volunteer leadership teams
- facilitate volunteer team meetings and manage workplans
- manage community impact investment and grant processes
- review proposals and financial reports from partners
- collaborate on grant contract reporting
- collect and analyze community and program data
- create impact content for reports
- present data to leadership and board
- meet with donors and support resource development
- participate in organizational planning and staff activities
- represent community impact internally
- actively participate in United Way committees
- perform other duties as assigned
