Job Requirements

- Seven years of management or administrative experience in safety or related field

Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in police science, law enforcement, safety or related field or equivalent experience
- Seven years of progressively responsible management or administrative experience in safety, security, law enforcement or related field
- Five years in administrative role interpreting and implementing policy
- Skilled in conflict management and resolution
- Knowledge of laws, codes, and principles relevant to safety and security in educational settings including OSHA, NFPA, FEMA NIMS
- Knowledge of security and safety software and administrative systems
- Ability to manage and secure campus facilities
- Skilled in relationship-building with community authorities
- Ability to analyze and present data effectively
- Detail-oriented and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills verbal, written, electronic
- Effective interpersonal and collaboration skills

Job Duties
- Provide overall leadership and management of the Department of Campus Safety including hiring, training, and supervising staff
- Plan, direct, and evaluate departmental activities ensuring legal compliance
- Develop, implement, and monitor campus safety programs, policies, and procedures
- Lead the College's emergency preparedness initiatives and ensure regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with law enforcement and external agencies including LAPD
- Cultivate inclusive relationships with campus community promoting safety
- Administer and oversee departmental budget and resource allocation
- Track and report crime and incident data in compliance with regulations
- Plan and coordinate staffing and security for special events
- Support environmental health and safety programs and access control systems
- Assess and enhance departmental operations to align with best practices
