Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum age of 18
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Eight years of experience in business development or related field
  • Five years of leadership experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Robust knowledge of alliance and partnership structures
  • Awareness of global development trends
  • Exceptional analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Detail oriented and highly organized
  • Sense of urgency
  • Willingness to travel at least 20%

Job Qualifications

  • Eight years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships/alliances or related area
  • Five years of leadership experience with at least two years of direct people leadership
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Robust knowledge of alliance and partnership structures
  • Awareness of global development trends
  • Exceptional analytical skills with ability to navigate complex datasets
  • Strong verbal, written, and listening communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to create collaborative relationships
  • Detail oriented and highly organized
  • Sense of urgency to complete assignments
  • Ability and willingness to travel at least 20% of the time
  • Airline industry knowledge preferred

Job Duties

  • Establish strategic goals and direction for alliances and partnerships team
  • Set long-term strategy and planning for partnerships portfolio
  • Serve as senior delegate to the oneworld alliance and manage related relationships
  • Own strategy for maximizing value from West Coast International Alliance
  • Evaluate partnership agreements and influence across marketing, loyalty, sales and ecommerce teams
  • Implement codeshare and interline infrastructure and manage projects' budget and timelines
  • Negotiate alliance and partner agreements that generate over $500 million in revenue
  • Grow Alaska Mileage Plan’s portfolio to increase member loyalty
  • Apply understanding of competitive environment to anticipate impacts
  • Develop people through performance management and succession planning
  • Shape team culture through leadership presence and behavior reform
