Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid RBT certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire or be a Licensed Psychiatric Technician or Qualified Behavior Modification Professional
  • Minimum 1 year prior experience providing direct care to individuals with developmental disabilities focusing on behavioral services preferred
  • Successful completion of all required trainings
  • Must possess a current, valid driver’s license with minimum two years driving experience and acceptable driving record

Job Duties

  • Assists and teaches residents self-care, self-administration of medications, and independent living skills including bathing, dressing, feeding, and nail care
  • Maintains safety and supervision of residents at all times
  • Implements Behavior Plans and Health Care Plans
  • Participates as a member of the interdisciplinary team in developing and implementing Individual Service Plans (ISP) and Individual Program Plans (IPP)
  • Assists residents with occupational, recreational, vocational, and therapeutic programs
  • Maintains a safe, sanitary, and therapeutic environment respecting residents privacy, rights, and dignity
  • Engages residents in activities that provide learning opportunities and skills practice
  • Provides active supervision during dining, recreational activities, and appointments
  • Transports residents to medical, recreational, and other appointments
  • Attends staff meetings and training sessions
  • Maintains all required trainings and certifications
  • Reports and documents behavior, medical concerns, and incidents
  • Remains on duty until relieved
  • Supports team cooperation and adapts to workload changes
  • Assists with health care and behavioral needs
  • Completes assigned tasks timely
  • Gives feedback to supervisors regarding home operations and resident care
  • Responds appropriately to emergencies as directed
  • Performs other duties as assigned
