Job Requirements

  • four-year course of study or at least 24 semester hours towards a bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • documented three years of general work experience in electronics, mathematics, computers, aeronautics, or related areas
  • at least one year of specialized work experience involving practical and theoretical knowledge of electronics and electricity
  • experience with tools, materials, and electronic test equipment for maintenance and repairs
  • ability to apply electronics and electro-mechanical theory to diagnostics
  • experience troubleshooting and repairing complex communications, navigational aids, automation, radar, and environmental systems
  • submission of transcript if qualifying by education

Job Qualifications

  • bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, electronics, physical sciences, information management, engineering, or telecommunications
  • three years of full-time general work experience in electronics, mathematics, computers, aeronautics, or related fields
  • specialized experience in testing, maintaining, and repairing communication and navigation systems
  • ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • knowledge of electronic and electro-mechanical theories
  • proficiency with electronic test equipment
  • demonstrated troubleshooting skills

Job Duties

  • install electronic and electro-mechanical systems related to air traffic control
  • evaluate and certify communication and navigation equipment
  • maintain and repair radar and automation systems
  • troubleshoot electrical and electronic faults using specialized test equipment
  • modify and upgrade facilities to ensure compliance with FAA standards
  • document maintenance activities and support system testing
  • collaborate with engineering and technical teams to resolve complex operational issues
