Job Requirements

  • documentation of 3 years of full-time general work experience or 1 year of specialized work experience
  • submission of detailed resumes including examples of relevant work
  • education transcripts showing degree and coursework
  • knowledge of basic electronics, electro-mechanical theory, and electronic test equipment
  • ability to apply mathematics for electronic calculations
  • possession of tools and materials proficiency
  • ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • demonstrated troubleshooting and repair skills
  • ability to work collaboratively in a technical environment

Job Qualifications

  • 3 years of general work experience with knowledge of electronics, mathematics, computers, aeronautics or related areas
  • 1 year of specialized work experience applying electronics and electricity principles
  • 4-year course of study or at least 24 semester hours leading to a bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, electronics, physical sciences, information management, engineering, telecommunications or related field
  • equivalent combinations of education and experience
  • Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of graduate education for FV-G level
  • practical and theoretical knowledge of electronics, communications, radar and automation systems
  • ability to troubleshoot, repair, and certify electronic systems
  • experience using electronic test equipment

Job Duties

  • Install, evaluate, maintain, modify, and certify NAS facilities and equipment
  • troubleshoot and repair communications, navigational aids, automation, radar, and environmental systems
  • utilize electronic test equipment to align and adjust electronic and electro-mechanical systems
  • read and interpret technical drawings and apply electronic and electrical theory principles
  • document work experience and system performance to ensure compliance with FAA standards
  • collaborate with engineers and other technical specialists to support system upgrades and maintenance
  • maintain safety and efficiency in air traffic control electronic systems operations
