Job Requirements
- Must have a bachelor's degree in hospitality, meeting, and event planning, or a related field
- Demonstrate excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Possess strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Have proven supervisory experience with effective time, project, and detail management
- Ability to relate effectively with institutional personnel and the public
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience leading a small team
- Demonstrated project management experience and capability (PMP certification or similar a plus)
- Prefer familiarity with project management tools like MS Project, Wrike, Confluence, Smartsheet, MS Office, eSpace, Caterease, Asana, Trello
- Prefer familiarity with event planning and management tools like Cvent
- Must be authorized to work in the United States

Job Duties
- Lead departmental planning to align with the center's divisional and organizational objectives
- Strategize and implement diverse events focusing on participant needs and expectations
- Assist the marketing and sales divisions in advertising and selling events at the Space and Rocket Center
- Strategize with the food and beverage director to ensure pricing and menu options are relevant and competitive
- Collaborate with the food and beverage director to ensure event sponsors and guests have a memorable event
- Collaborate with various departments for seamless internal event execution
- Ensure targets are met by overseeing event production schedules
- Track and analyze trends to enhance future event planning and processes
- Review and approve floor plans and specifications created by managers
- Serve as the main point of contact for VIP guests visiting the center
- Plan hospitality for VIP guests and coordinate across the center to ensure guest satisfaction and achievement of the center's visit objectives
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to ensure their continued support of the center's mission and initiatives
- Adhere to organizational policies and applicable laws
- Instruct, coach, and encourage staff to support the mission and vision of the center
- Demonstrate good judgment within the supervision of staff
- Monitor staff performance and offer coaching, counseling, or supervision as required
- Complete staff evaluations and documentation on time and effectively
- Serve as an effective role model to staff by demonstrating exemplary work ethic
