Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, meeting, and event planning, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience leading a small team
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Demonstrated project management experience and capability (PMP certification or similar) a plus
- Familiarity with project management tools like MS Project, Wrike, Confluence, Smartsheet, MS Office, eSpace, Caterease, Asana, Trello
- Familiarity with event planning and management tools like Cvent
- Authorized to work in the United States

Job Duties
- Lead departmental planning to align with the Center's divisional and organizational objectives
- Strategize and implement diverse events focusing on participant needs and expectations
- Assist the Marketing and Sales divisions in advertising and selling events at the Space and Rocket Center
- Strategize with the Food and Beverage Director to ensure pricing and menu options are relevant and competitive
- Collaborate with the Food and Beverage Director to ensure event sponsors and guests have a memorable event
- Collaborate with various departments for seamless internal event execution
- Ensure targets are met by overseeing event production schedules
- Track and analyze trends to enhance future event planning and processes
- Review and approve floor plans and specifications created by Managers
- Serve as the main point of contact for VIP Guests visiting the center
- Plan appropriate hospitality for VIP Guests and work across the Center to ensure guests are delighted and the Rocket Center’s objectives for the visit are met
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to ensure their continued support of the center’s mission and initiatives
- Adhere to organizational policies and applicable laws in supervisory responsibilities
- Instruct, coach, and encourage staff to support the mission and vision of the Center by action and example
- Demonstrate good judgment within the supervision of staff
- Monitor staff performance and offer coaching, counseling or supervision as required
- Complete staff evaluations and documentation timely and effectively
- Serve as an effective role model by demonstrating exemplary work ethic
