Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or associate degree with experience
- Five to seven years of foodservice operational management experience
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Proficiency in budget management and financial analysis
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to perform daily operational oversight and compliance walkthroughs
- Capability to coach and mentor team members
- ServSafe certification
- Ability to adapt and problem solve in stressful situations
Job Qualifications
- B.S. degree in food services technology/management or related field preferred
- A.A. degree plus four years of related experience acceptable
- Five to seven years of direct foodservice operational management experience
- Knowledge of inventory and purchasing control
- Expertise in food and catering trends focusing on quality, sanitation, and cost control
- Previous P&L accountability or contract-managed service experience desirable
- Strong supervisory, leadership, and coaching skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with management, clients, customers, and associates
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer applications
- ServSafe certification required
Job Duties
- Develop and implement overall operating strategy aligned with Compass Community Living and client business strategy
- Hold on-site leadership accountable for demonstrating desired service behaviors
- Evaluate personnel, operations, and culinary situations and make recommendations
- Maintain professionalism and resilience during stressful periods
- Perform daily walk-throughs to ensure compliance with health regulations
- Direct safety, sanitation, and maintenance programs
- Lead pre-meal briefings and staff meetings for effective communication
- Develop and operate budget according to approved plans
- Manage wages, food and beverage costs, and controllable expenses
- Review financial reports and implement improvement strategies
- Build relationships with residents, staff, and community departments
- Review and improve resident satisfaction results
- Provide mentorship and individual coaching
- Introduce new food and beverage products based on market trends
- Lead team member meetings and create a positive work environment
- Establish performance and budget goals
- Solicit employee feedback and apply open door policy
- Coach and mentor team members for performance objectives
- Hire and retain qualified food and beverage leadership team
- Ensure fair and equitable treatment of employees
- Hold team accountable while demonstrating empathy
