Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 5+ years of experience in a food service environment
- 3+ years of management or supervisory experience
- Knowledge of budget management and inventory procedures
- ServSafe Food Safety Manager Certified or willing to complete within 60 days
- Valid state driver’s license and insurance
- Completion of background clearances and health screening including negative TB test within 7 days of employment
- Excellent English communication skills
- Resident-centered and enjoys working with seniors
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Ability to remain calm and manage conflicts
- Professional and tactful communication skills
- Ability and willingness to travel frequently and stay at assigned communities for extended periods
- Physical ability to perform tasks including walking, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, and assisting residents safely
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Culinary or hospitality degree preferred
- 5+ years experience in food service environment, preferably senior living
- 3+ years supervisory or management experience
- Knowledge of budget management, par inventory, and ordering procedures
- ServSafe Food Safety Manager certification or willingness to complete within 60 days
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Resident-centered approach with a passion for working with seniors
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to make independent sound decisions and manage conflicts calmly
- Professional and tactful interpersonal skills
Job Duties
- Travel 100% to assigned communities within the MBK Senior Living portfolio for short- and long-term assignments
- Partner with the National Director-Dining services to plan and oversee community dining activities
- Collaborate with departments to plan menus for events and activities
- Plan weekly menus considering residents' nutritional needs and cultural preferences
- Control food costs and minimize waste while maintaining food quality
- Oversee safe, sanitary food handling and loss prevention
- Manage monthly expenditures, inspecting workstations daily for sanitation compliance
- Conduct table touches with residents
- Maintain dietary records and communicate changes
- Order supplies within budget and validate deliveries
- Monitor food quality and consistency
- Conduct Quality Assurance Audits
- Prepare meals and cover cooks on days off
- Schedule staff and oversee cleaning schedules
- Participate in sales processes for potential residents
- Observe staff for adherence to preparation and portioning standards
- Perform hands-on cooking
- Maintain confidentiality
- Ensure a safe environment following all policies
- Comply with federal, state, and local regulations
- Lead teamwork and communication in line with MBK values
- Establish working relationships with coworkers, residents, families, and visitors
- Perform other duties or special projects as assigned
