Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • current ServSafe Certification
  • two to three years of related job experience
  • open availability including nights and weekends
  • ability to work with a diverse population
  • ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • ability to take direction
  • meet background check requirements

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED or vocational school diploma
  • ServSafe Certification
  • two to three years of job-related experience
  • technical diploma, associate degree, or two years college coursework in the culinary arts related field preferred
  • three or more years of experience in institutional food service or large-scale food production kitchen preferred
  • experience in a commercial food service environment desired
  • good customer service skills
  • ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • strong time awareness and management skills

Job Duties

  • Participate in leading and training team members, temporary and student employees regarding departmental policies and procedures
  • lead the work of shift staff in preparing, cooking, and storing food, as well as in maintaining kitchen and storage facilities in sanitary condition
  • oversee food quality and organization of stations
  • assist on stations, prepare, and follow daily prep sheets and recipes according to the Chef
  • monitor product on lines
  • maintain, repair and clean utensils, equipment, and work areas
  • report damaged equipment or utensils to manager/supervisors on duty
  • operate point-of-sale devices as cashier on an as needed basis
  • perform other related duties as assigned
