Job Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED or vocational school diploma
- ServSafe Certification
- two to three years of job-related experience
- technical diploma, associate degree, or two years college coursework in the culinary arts related field preferred
- three or more years of experience in institutional food service or large-scale food production kitchen preferred
- experience in a commercial food service environment desired
- good customer service skills
- ability to follow oral and written instructions
- strong time awareness and management skills
Job Duties
- Participate in leading and training team members, temporary and student employees regarding departmental policies and procedures
- lead the work of shift staff in preparing, cooking, and storing food, as well as in maintaining kitchen and storage facilities in sanitary condition
- oversee food quality and organization of stations
- assist on stations, prepare, and follow daily prep sheets and recipes according to the Chef
- monitor product on lines
- maintain, repair and clean utensils, equipment, and work areas
- report damaged equipment or utensils to manager/supervisors on duty
- operate point-of-sale devices as cashier on an as needed basis
- perform other related duties as assigned
