Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certification in ServSafe every 3 years
  • Previous supervisory experience or training preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficiency in computer applications such as MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to read and interpret safety and operating instructions
  • Ability to write reports and communicate effectively
  • Ability to handle problem-solving in standardized situations

Job Qualifications

  • Certified in ServSafe every 3 years
  • Supervisory experience or training preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively with customers and associates
  • Proficiency in using computer-based systems, including MS applications like Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and creating menus on software systems
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and handle problems with a few concrete variables in standardized situations

Job Duties

  • Recruit, interview, hire, and train waitstaff
  • Promote employee skill development through on-the-job training and quarterly seminars
  • Greet residents in the dining room and ensure all residents are properly taken care of
  • Maintain the appearance of the dining room and request repairs or upkeep as needed
  • Work with residents and staff to plan parties, bill parties that occur in the dining room, and communicate food-related concerns to the Chef
  • Attend weekly supervisor and catering meetings, monthly food committee meetings, and resident assessment meetings
  • Plan promotional events for holidays and work on special projects with the Dining Room and Catering Director
