Job Requirements

  • three years of full-time work experience as a manager, chef, or sous chef in a large-scale commercial food services operation
  • three years of experience supervising or leading the work of others
  • ability to obtain a Food Handler Permit and OLCC Service Permit
  • willingness to work varying schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to manage budget and purchasing responsibilities
  • physical ability to work in fast-paced food service environment including standing for long periods and lifting heavy items

Job Qualifications

  • three years of full-time experience as a manager, chef, or sous chef in a large-scale commercial food service operation
  • three years of experience supervising or leading staff including assigning, evaluating work, and handling disciplinary actions
  • culinary skills and understanding of commercial kitchen operations
  • ability to prepare reports, budgets, and documents
  • experience or commitment to working effectively with diverse populations
  • culinary degree from a two or four-year program preferred
  • bachelor’s degree preferred
  • experience with computerized food service management and point-of-sale systems preferred
  • experience managing a unionized food service staff preferred
  • experience in a college or university food service operation preferred

Job Duties

  • manage daily operations of assigned dining venues
  • supervise classified and student staff including scheduling and performance evaluation
  • direct menu planning and ensure culinary standards
  • oversee food safety procedures and compliance
  • prepare reports and manage budgets related to food service operations
  • coordinate purchasing of food and supplies
  • foster a positive and inclusive work environment
