Job Requirements

  • Completion of four-year college degree program or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • one to three years of related food/beverage service experience
  • knowledge of applicable safety, sanitation, and quality standards
  • ability to supervise and manage a team
  • capability to handle operational budgeting
  • strong organizational and communication skills
  • availability to work Sunday through Thursday afternoons and evenings
  • willingness to maintain work attendance during university closures or emergencies

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nutrition, dietetics, hotel restaurant and institutions management, or related business field
  • one to three years of progressively responsible experience in food/beverage preparation and presentation
  • knowledge of contract constraints and building maintenance
  • strong leadership and staff management skills
  • experience with budgeting and financial oversight
  • proficiency with computer ordering and control systems
  • excellent communication and customer service skills
  • ability to develop training programs
  • proven problem-solving capabilities

Job Duties

  • Monitor daily food production and presentation
  • ensure conformance with prescribed menus and quality standards
  • maintain safety and sanitation compliance with relevant codes and regulations
  • interview and recommend employment of support staff
  • schedule staff shifts and manage performance
  • develop and implement training programs for support staff
  • prepare operational reports and marketing support documentation
  • coordinate ordering and inventory control systems using computer programs
  • assist in budget preparation and monthly review
  • manage menu development and respond to customer feedback
  • support food production and GrubHub order fulfillment
  • identify equipment and furnishing needs and communicate for funding
  • uphold attendance during emergencies as part of critical staff
