Job Description
The Colorado Mental Health Institute at Fort Logan (CMHIFL) is a pivotal institution within the state of Colorado, dedicated to delivering the highest quality mental health care to individuals facing complex, serious, and persistent mental illnesses. Job Requirements
- Current Colorado resident
- Three years food service experience including cooking and preparation of food
- Ability to work 10-hour variable shifts including early and late shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Must pass full background check including name, fingerprint, court databases, drug screening, and medical screening including TB test
- Must meet Colorado Department of Human Services conditions of employment including vaccinations
- Available for shift work
- Disclosure of prior disciplinary termination or resignation in lieu of termination if applicable
Job Qualifications
- Three years of food service experience including cooking and preparation
- Experience working in banquet, catering, or production kitchen settings
- Preferred experience in healthcare or senior living nutrition services
- ServSafe certified or possession of food handler or culinary license
- Experience with HACCP food safety guidelines
- Line or production cook experience
Job Duties
- Prepares regular and modified meals using standardized recipes and commercial kitchen equipment
- Assures food is attractive, appetizing, and at the proper temperature
- Supervises daily shift operations including task assignments and workflow monitoring
- Documents temperatures, production records, and cleaning schedules
- Ensures compliance with food safety, sanitation, and hospital policies
- Maintains and monitors kitchen equipment and sanitation standards
- Conducts training and completes mandatory departmental training
- Leads entire shift crew in supervisor's absence by assigning tasks and scheduling work
